Too much Minnesota news? Or not enough?

I hear you. Yes, we’ve been writing a lot about the news from our home state. But it just won’t stop. Judging by the contacts I’ve had with media yesterday and today (barring major intervening events) the national media coverage will extend well into next week.

Yet the message may still not be getting through. Local TV reporter Lou Raguse is one 0f a small handful who have been covering the fraud story for years. This week he sat down for an interview himself (seen here). By his count, Raguse has aired over 150 stories about the frauds over the years. Yet at the 8:30 mark of the interview, he reveals that viewers approach him even at this late date saying they are just now hearing about it for the very first time.

From Fox News (Opinion),

BROADCAST BIAS: Networks would rather slam Trump than report on massive Somali fraud.

Tom Graham writes,

Early in the week, Curtis Houck at NewsBusters found ABC and NBC only touched on the Minnesota fraud in 21% of their Somali coverage. The vast majority of verbiage was negative evaluations of Trump.

I can say with a high degree of confidence that there are people, living in Minnesota, who will vote in the next election, who have not yet heard about the Somali frauds.

At that very instant you, the loyal and patient reader, have reached the saturation point and don’t want to hear another word about “frauds” or “Somalis,” some other voter is just picking up the story.

I suspect that the only thing that will interrupt the national/international coverage will be the upcoming holidays. The feeding frenzy begin with that City Journal piece on November 19 and has not let up for the past 24 days.

For most of the media, Minnesota Fraud is the cornucopia, the gift that keeps on giving.
