Travel chaos spreads as Dems try to defund police

From the U.K Daily Mail,

The two enormous airports plunged into travel hell by ongoing TSA staff shortages and nightmare spring storm.

The two airports are Houston’s Intercontinental (IAH) and Florida’s Ft. Lauderdale (FLL). The latter, of course, is a big spring break destination. The Daily Mail reports,

Frustrated passengers dealing with delays in Houston, Texas, have now been given cots to sleep on, while others in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, have been sleeping on the airport floor – but only if they manage to make their way inside from the massive line stretched outside.

The chaos is due to the partial shutdown that began on February 14 and left thousands of TSA workers without paychecks, resulting in major staffing shortages across the nation.

Back in Washington, The Hill newspaper reports,

  • 4:29: TSA official: ‘Not hyperbole’ to suggest airports may close if shutdown persists
  • 12:22: Johnson says Democrats’ pitch to fund DHS without ICE, CBP would ‘defund the police’
  • 11:38: White House reviews Democratic offer to reopen Homeland Security

The crisis continues.
