We are at the FO part of the FA’ing being done by several public school systems in the Northern Virginia area, who have chosen not to abide by the Trump administration mandate requiring students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their biological sex. As a result, the Department of Education is putting the school systems in question—Alexandria City Public Schools, Arlington Public Schools, Fairfax County Public Schools, Loudoun County Public Schools, and Prince William County Public Schools—into the “high risk” category for future federal funding, meaning they’ll only be able to obtain funds through reimbursements.
Secretary of Education Linda McMahon made the announcement Tuesday:
The Trump Admin will no longer stand by as states & school districts flout federal law.
Starting today, 5 Northern Virginia school divisions must request reimbursement for all federal ed dollars & will be classified as high risk for future federal funding.https://t.co/xwdaO1OsBe

The official Ed. Dept. announcement had the pertinent details:
This action is being taken after all five Divisions have been found in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX). The Department found the Divisions in violation of Title IX last month for their policies allowing students to occupy intimate facilities based on “gender identity,” not biological sex. The Divisions refused to sign the Department’s proposed Resolution Agreement to voluntarily resolve their Title IX violations by last Friday’s (August 15th) deadline and have instead chosen to remain in violation of Title IX.
The school systems had until August 15 to respond to the Education Department’s demand that they bring their bathroom and locker polices into compliance with Title IX. Instead, the schools collectively rejected the resolution agreement proposed by the Trump administration, which prompted Tuesday’s move to cut federal financial assistance.
Going forward as high risk, the school systems “will now be required to pay their education expenses up front and then request reimbursement for expenditures to access funds obligated by the Department.” The high risk tag also raises the possibility that federal monies will at some point stop flowing into these schools altogether.
McMahon is holding firm on the action, saying, “States and school districts cannot openly violate federal law while simultaneously receiving federal funding with no additional scrutiny. The Northern Viriginia School Divisions that are choosing to abide by woke gender ideology in place of federal law must now prove they are using every single federal dollar for a legal purpose.”
The affected school systems don’t seemed to be too bothered, apparently preferring to hold fast to their radical trans agenda to the detriment of their students.
“I think the Department of Education should be spending more time on making sure my students have the funding they need, so I can teach algebra to everyone who needs it, and that we have opportunities available for our kids,” Prince William County School Board Chair Babur Lateef told 7News. “Focusing on an issue that isn’t really a problem in Prince William County Schools, I think is a mistake the Department of Education is doing.”
Things are particularly contentious in Loudoun County after school administrators decided to punish two high school boys for complaining after a biological female who “identifies” as a boy not only used the boys’ locker room, but took out her phone and videoed the boys. She is not facing any disciplinary actions.
For now, it looks like these Northern Virginia school divisions are digging in their heels, prioritizing radical ideologies over student safety and success. With their high-risk designation now in effect, these districts will face increased scrutiny—it’s an election year!—and taxpayers may soon learn the cost of putting woke policies ahead of the law.
Editor’s Note: President Trump is fighting to dismantle the Department of Education and ensure America’s kids get the education they deserve.
