Trump announces new guidance to protect the right to pray in public schools

(LifeSiteNews) — President Donald Trump declared at a meeting of the White House Religious Liberty Commission (WHRLC), “We have to bring back religion in America.” He also vowed to protect the right to pray in public schools.

Speaking at the newly-formed commission’s second public hearing at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., on Monday morning, Trump said, “America was founded on faith, as we know, and I’ve been saying it for a long time, when faith gets weaker, our country seems to get weaker.”

“And under the Trump administration, we’re defending our rights and restoring our identity as a nation under God. We are one nation under God, and we always will be,” he added.

“We have to bring back religion in America, bring it back stronger than ever before,” said the president.

Trump also announced that the Department of Education (DOE) will be issuing guidance protecting the right to pray in public schools.

“For most of our country’s history, the Bible was found in every classroom in the nation, yet in many schools today, students are indoctrinated with anti-religious propaganda and some are even punished for their religious beliefs,” said Trump. “It’s ridiculous!”

“I’m pleased to announce that the Department of Education will soon issue new guidance protecting the right to prayer in our public schools,” announced the president to resounding applause and cheers.

Trump indicated that anti-Christian bias swelled under the Biden administration.
