Trump Floats Taking $3B in Harvard Funding and Sending It to an Entirely Different Type of School – RedState

As we’ve been reporting, President Donald Trump has been taking on universities like Harvard that tolerated rampant antisemitism on their campuses following the Hamas slaughter of Jews on Oct. 7, 2023, and their going all-in on the discriminatory policies of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

On Monday, he floated another idea: how about we take a cool three billion in federal grant money slated for the Ivy League institution and give it to trade schools instead?

“What a great investment it would be for the USA,” he posted on Truth Social Monday morning:

I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land. What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!

The president followed up with another post criticizing the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based university for not cooperating with his request that they divulge more information about their international students.

We are still waiting for the Foreign Student Lists from Harvard so that we can determine, after a ridiculous expenditure of BILLIONS OF DOLLARS, how many radicalized lunatics, troublemakers all, should not be let back into our Country. Harvard is very slow in the presentation of these documents, and probably for good reason! The best thing Harvard has going for it is that they have shopped around and found the absolute best Judge (for them!) – But have no fear, the Government will, in the end, WIN!

The Trump administration announced on Thursday that they were revoking the visas of Harvard’s international students unless the university’s administration cooperated. Such a move would be a big blow to their bottom line, seeing as approximately 6,800 students from 100 countries, or 27.5 percent of their students, are foreign.

However, it seemed like only minutes passed before an Obama-appointed federal judge flew in off the top rope and slapped down a temporary restraining order. We’ll see how that turns out.

As I wrote Sunday, Harvard’s news cycle has been ugly as of late:

Harvard has had a rough go of it in recent years, with its former president Claudine Gay resigning in disgrace after a plagiarism scandal and her laissez faire attitude toward pro-Hamas disruptors who threatened Jewish students and caused chaos, their medical school’s morgue director pleading guilty to selling body parts, and their refusal to cooperate with the Trump administration over the international student issue.

Sending the money to trade schools instead. Hmm, not a bad idea. I’m guessing Mike Rowe would approve.
