Trump Says Iran’s Peace Proposals ‘Not Good Enough,’ Sets Deadline on When US Will Intensify Attacks – RedState

As RedState’s Nick Arama reported, the Trump administration is “considering” a 45-day ceasefire offer from Iran. However, President Trump said at the White House Easter Egg Roll Monday that so far, nothing they’ve offered is “good enough”:

Meanwhile, at least one Iranian spokesman, Mojtaba Ferdousi Pour, head of the country’s diplomatic mission in Cairo, has rejected the notion of a ceasefire, saying “We only accept an end of the war with guarantees that we won’t be attacked again.” Good luck with that.

On Sunday, Trump had laid out a firm deadline, implying that Iran must fully agree by Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET to all our conditions, or we would unleash our firepower even more than we have up to this point:

Trump is scheduled to hold a news conference at 1 p.m. ET Monday.

Developments continue to unfold rapidly:

NEW THREATS AHEAD OF DEADLINE: Iran has warned of a “more severe and expansive” response if Trump follows through on his expletive-laden threat to strike energy infrastructure and bridges.

CEASEFIRE TALKS: A proposal for a 45-day ceasefire is “one of many things being discussed,” a senior White House official told NBC News earlier today.

IRGC INTEL CHIEF KILLED: The head of intelligence for Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard was killed in an attack targeting him, Iranian state media said. Israel said it killed Maj. Gen. Majid Khademi, the latest senior figure assassinated, while dozens more were reported dead in intense attacks on Iran overnight.

Two More Top Iranian Officials Eliminated in Overnight Strikes

Trump still held out hope that a deal could be reached, however, pointing out again that the people he’s negotiating with are a whole lot better than the former (mostly dead) mullahs:

If Iran won’t cooperate, Trump previewed exactly what will happen to them:

He said that they already face a huge rebuilding project when the conflict ends, and that if we have to go after their power facilities, it will really leave them hurting:

“We could leave right now, and it would take them 15 years to rebuild what they have… But I want to finish it up. Iran CANNOT have a nuclear weapon. They are lunatics — and you can’t put nuclear weapons in the hands of a lunatic.”

Profanity alert:

RedState will cover the news conference for you and bring you all the developments.

Editor’s Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
