Trump Shares Incredible Update About National Guardsman Shot in DC Terror Attack – RedState

President Donald Trump shared an incredible update about one of the West Virginia National Guard members, Andrew Wolfe, who was shot in a terrorist attack in Washington, DC, just before Thanksgiving.

On Tuesday night, President Trump stepped on stage in Pennsylvania to deliver a speech on the economy, and while speaking, shared news with the crowd that he had just spoken to Wolfe’s mother about her son’s condition after he was nearly killed in a terrorist attack by an Afghan national that left one other guard member, Sarah Beckstrom, dead.

“In D.C., we had a tragic incident, as you know, with the two incredible people…Sarah and Andrew. Sarah passed away,” President Trump said. “She’s looking at us from Heaven, from above. And Andrew’s the second one, who was also from the West Virginia National Guard. Incredible people.”

“And his mother’s named Monica. And Monica’s the most positive person I’ve ever seen….And today, I got a call that he got up from bed. Do you believe that? He got up,” he added, as the crowd roared with cheers and applause.

“Now he didn’t speak. He’s not ready for that yet…but he got up and boy, they’re so happy,” Trump continued. “It’s amazing…Andrew stood up today, and people can’t even believe it, so… let’s hope it continues.

Trump also said Monica commented on the “level of love” and care her son had received at the hands of the staff and military members who have stopped in to check on him. Sarah’s parents said the same thing, too.

News of Andrew getting up out of bed is truly a miracle, given the last update we had, which was from West Virginia Republican Governor Patrick Morrisey, who shared eight days ago that Wolfe had responded to a nurse who asked him a question, but was still fighting for his life, as RedState reported.

“Andrew remains in serious condition,” Morrisey said during a recent press conference. “We did get some positive news that we were told that Andrew was asked if he could hear the nurse who asked the question to give a thumbs up, and he did respond. We were told that he also wiggled his toes. So we take that as a positive sign.”

At one point, Morrissey said the most important message he wanted to convey from Andrew’s parents was to keep those prayers coming; he needs them.

“I think that the West Virginia people are strong and they know that everything is being done right now to ensure that justice is served,” the governor continued. “But equally important, we have to do everything possible to send prayers and to console people who are going through just unspeakable times right now.”

Please keep these families in your prayers. Check back to RedState for updates.
