Tulsi Gabbard Comes Out Full Throttle Against ‘False and Slanderous Accusations’ From Dems and Media – RedState

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is in the news again, this time as the subject of a Wall Street Journal piece that contends there is a whistleblower complaint against her that is so hush-hush that it’s “sparked months of wrangling over how to share it with Congress.”

Who is making this allegation? “U.S. officials and others familiar with the matter.” As the wonderful old lady used to say in the Burger King commercials, “Where’s the beef?”

Well, this is terrible — this must be the end of her career! She’s toast. But wait… A third of the way into the story, there’s this little nugget:

A representative for the inspector general said the office had determined specific allegations against Gabbard weren’t credible, while it couldn’t reach a determination on others.

Oh.

The DNI is also taking incoming from Democrats and the press (same thing?) for appearing in Fulton County, Georgia — home to disgraced district attorney Fani Willis —because the president had ordered her to observe an FBI search of the county’s election office as they investigate possible irregularities in the 2020 vote.

Tulsi Gabbard on Monday defended her presence at an FBI search of an election center in Fulton County, Georgia, that has raised questions about her involvement as director of national intelligence.

In a letter to the top Democrats on the House and Senate intelligence committees, Gabbard said she was at the center last week in keeping with U.S. law and her responsibilities as the country’s top intelligence official.

Her letter blasted the press and the congresscritters who are accusing her of wrongdoing:

Contrary to the blatantly false and slanderous accusations being made against me by Members of Congress and their friends in the propaganda media, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has and will continue to take action under my statutory authorities to secure our nation and ensure the integrity of our elections.

The DNI said she had every right to be there:

Gabbard stood by her decision not to brief lawmakers about intelligence on possible threats to election security before her trip to Georgia, saying she would not “irresponsibly share incomplete assessments.”

“I will share our intelligence assessments with Congress once they are complete,” she wrote.

Gabbard added that, as DNI, she has full authority to make sure our elections are clean:

Gabbard went on to say she had broad authority as the director of national intelligence to oversee efforts to ensure U.S. elections are secure and to identify and analyze any potential foreign threats to elections or voting systems. In her letter, she acknowledged that she had arranged a call with FBI personnel and President Donald Trump.

Gabbard wrote that she placed a call in Fulton County to allow Trump to express his gratitude to the FBI agents who conducted the search.

“He did not ask any questions, nor did he or I issue any directives,” Gabbard wrote.

The Democrats and the press love to try to create dissension within the Trump ranks, and they constantly peddle rumors that Attorney General Pam Bondi is on the outs, or that FBI Director Kash Patel is no longer in favor, and so on.

It looks like this week, they’ve picked Tulsi Gabbard as their target.

She’s made it quite clear, however, that she’s going to fight back.
