UFC Fight Night Hits Nashville And Promises A Slugfest

Another must-see UFC Fight Night, brought to you in part by Jeremy’s Razors, awaits on Saturday as some heavy hitters square off in the octagon at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The event promises some explosive action as the night’s stacked card will feature knockout artists, technical strikers, and fan favorites. A heavyweight clash between former title contender Derrick Lewis and brash upstart Tallison Teixeira headlines the Fight Night. The main card also showcases pivotal bouts in the welterweight and featherweight divisions.

The event airs live on ESPN and ESPN+, starting with prelims at 5 p.m. CT. The main card begins at 8 p.m., and fans in Music City and beyond are in for an action-packed night of MMA fights.

Heavyweight Main Event: Lewis vs. Teixeira

The main event pits the UFC’s all-time knockout leader and fan favorite, No. 9-ranked Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis (28-12), against undefeated Brazilian phenom No. 13-ranked Tallison “Xicao” Teixeira (8-0).

Lewis, returning after a 14-month layoff, is known for his devastating power, holding a record 15 knockouts in UFC history. His last win came via a third-round mauling against Rodrigo Nascimento by way of TKO in May 2024, and he’s eager to remind fans why he remains one of the most dangerous heavyweights in the UFC.

Teixeira, a 25-year-old rising star, brings an undefeated record and a streak of eight first-round finishes, including a TKO over Justin Tafa at UFC 312 in February 2025.

Thompson vs. Bonfim

In the welterweight co-main event, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson (17-8-1) takes on Gabriel Bonfim (17-1) in a clash that could shake up the top 15 rankings.

Thompson, a 42-year-old former top contender and another fan favorite known for his slick striking and elusive footwork, is squaring off with Father Time more than anyone else, having lost four of his last five fights.

Bonfim, a 27-year-old Brazilian prospect, suffered a setback against Nicholas Dalby in November 2023, but has otherwise been dominant with his well-rounded skill set, including sharp striking and dangerous submissions.

Kattar vs. Garcia

Calvin Kattar (23-9), ranked 14th, faces Steve Garcia (17-5) in a high-energy featherweight bout. Kattar, “The Boston Finisher,” is a veteran with five Fight of the Night bonuses and notable wins over Giga Chikadze and Dan Ige. Though known for his excellent hands, he’s on a four-fight skid, going back to 2022, and is desperately seeking another win.

Garcia, riding a five-fight win streak with five consecutive knockouts, is tied for the fourth-longest KO streak in UFC history. His recent victims include Kyle Nelson and SeungWoo Choi, and he’s looking to crack the featherweight rankings with a win over Kattar.

Landwehr vs. Charriere

Another featherweight showdown features Nate Landwehr (18-6) against Morgan Charriere (20-11-1). Landwehr, known for his grit, always delivers an entertaining fight.

Charriere, nicknamed “The Last Pirate,” is a bonus machine, earning three straight post-fight bonuses despite a recent unanimous decision loss to Nathaniel Wood. Both fighters are known for their relentless pace, making this a potential fight of the night.

Petrino vs. Lane

Another heavyweight clash will pit Brazil’s Vitor Petrino (11-2) against Austen Lane (13-6) in a matchup of power punchers. Petrino, previously a light heavyweight, is making his heavyweight debut and plans to come out swinging in a new division after a promising UFC start.

Lane, a seasoned heavyweight, aims to capitalize on his size and experience to derail Petrino’s ambitions. With Petrino’s athleticism and striking facing Lane’s veteran savvy, this fight could set the tone for the main card’s intensity.

Junior Tafa vs. Tuco Tokkos

Rounding out the main card, Australian Junior Tafa (6-3) takes on Brit Tuco Tokkos (10-5) in a light heavyweight clash. Tafa, known for his heavy hands, looks to build on his momentum, while Tokkos aims for an upset with his well-rounded game. Both fighters are hungry to climb the ranks, and this bout could deliver a quick finish.
