A popular Buckinghamshire pub is preparing to pull its final pints this weekend, with loyal customers being urged to visit before the doors close for good.
The White Horse on London End in Beaconsfield has confirmed that Sunday, January 11 will be its last day of trading. The pub will remain open until then and is urging locals to stop by for a final pint before the shutters come down.
In a message to customers, the team said the decision had already begun to circulate locally, adding that the final evening of service would be Sunday night. Staff also expressed gratitude to those who have supported the pub over the years.
The White Horse has encouraged regulars to visit before closing, saying they would love to welcome customers in for “a final pint or two” before the end of service.
Regulars took to social media to share their disappointment.
One said: “Very sad. You will be so missed as a superb pub that was run by a wonderful bunch of people.Thank you so much for all the good times.”
Another added: “Noooooo! One of the few local pubs with plenty of space, decent food and lovely staff. It’ll be missed”
The venue is part of the Brunning and Price pub group, which operates around 81 pubs across the UK. Other sites in the group include The Rowbarge in Woolhampton and The Horse & Groom in Twyford.
While no reason has been publicly given for the closure, the pub has used the announcement to point customers towards nearby sister venues, suggesting Beaconsfield drinkers will still have familiar Brunning and Price options close by.
The closure marks the end of an era for the Beaconsfield site, with Sunday set to be the final chance for locals to raise a glass inside the White Horse.
