Nearly 30 protesters arrested, cop injured in more chaotic Minneapolis protests after Renee Nicole Good shooting.
The Post reports,
Minneapolis saw 29 protesters arrested and one police officer injured as protests boiled over into chaos Friday night, which Mayor Jacob Frey blamed on a “far right” agitator.
Here, our boy Mayor attempts to invoke the mythical figure of “Umbrella Man,” a perhaps non-corporeal “far-right” being said to have triggered the George Floyd riots of 2020.
Alas, the nonexistent Umbrella Man was never apprehended, so he remains at large to haunt the Minneapolis night during periods of “civic unrest.” The Post continues,
It was not clear if that unidentified man was arrested, or what he was doing that would have incited nearly 30 arrests.
In nearly all matters, I admire the Post‘s reporting, but clearly they understand neither the myth nor the legend of Umbrella Man. The man, said to be a biker, has hypnotic powers that no Antifa goon can resist.
Less than a year ago, Scott took up the question of “Who Was Umbrella Man” in this post. Scott wrote last May,
There is a yearning on the left to attribute the wave of destruction that emanated from the Twin Cities to “white supremacy” or to “white supremacists.”
Nothing has changed in six years. Frey is still Mayor, Walz is still Governor, Ellison in still Attorney General. The riots continue, with the only other constant being the ever-present specter of Umbrella Man to absolve the former of all their sins.
