Uncovered Biden Notecards for High Profile Dems Including Chuck Schumer Seem to Vindicate GOP Concerns – RedState

Former President Joe Biden frequently relied on palm cards as “cheat sheets” during press events throughout his presidency, often cited as evidence of cognitive decline. In a Tuesday report, Fox News revealed that Biden used these aids even for long-time allies like former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, whom he has known for decades.

Reporting from Fox News Digital on Tuesday revealed that note cards from the Biden era show that the former president’s staffers compiled the names and photos of several high-profile Democrats, including  Clinton, and then-Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, among others, for him to reference in his remarks. At the time, Biden would have been meeting with and working with Schumer on a regular basis.

The outlet reported that five “palm cards” were found in an investigation of National Archive documents and Biden’s liberal use of the presidential autopen to sign various orders. Four of them were reportedly stamped “PRESIDENT HAS SEEN,” indicating they were, in fact, used by Biden. On the fifth card, an ABC News reporter’s questions for the president were given to him in advance, demonstrating that the White House staff was working in collaboration with the establishment media during this time.

Will Ricciardella, Fox News’ Managing Editor, Politics, noted in a thread posted to X, “These weren’t casual notes. Four were stamped “PRESIDENT HAS SEEN,” indicating they were formally vetted materials — not scribbles.”

He added, “Some cards carried full bios and photos of lawmakers; others flagged lesser-known figures or anticipated media questions. They appear designed to cue recognition during public events.”

According to independent journalist Stephen L. Miller, Axios’ National Political Correspondent Alex Thompson referred to the ABC News notecard as a “one-time deal.” Miller, however, differed in a post to X writing, “It should be the biggest media scandal in a generation. The entire White House Press was coordinating their questions with the Biden White House. Not just one person.”

In a July 2024 press release announcing subpoenas to Biden aides, House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY) referenced aids such as note cards indirectly as part of efforts to manage Biden’s public appearances: “These aides were responsible for scripting and controlling the President’s limited public interactions to conceal his cognitive decline.”

While not quoting “palm cards” verbatim, the committee’s accompanying report cited examples of Biden using “detailed note cards with photos and bios of attendees” for events, such as meetings with Hillary Clinton and Sen. Chuck Schumer in 2023. The Fox News report would appear to vindicate these findings.

In context, Chairman Comer said:

“The White House has shielded three key aides from testifying about President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents and now we’ve learned through reporting these same aides are also seeking to cover up President Biden’s declining cognitive state inside the White House. President Biden is clearly unfit for office, yet his staff are trying to hide the truth from the American people. Key White House staff must come before our committee so we can provide the transparency and accountability that Americans deserve.”

White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers responded to the scandal, telling Fox Digital Tuesday, “President Trump gives unfettered access to the media and answers every question imaginable, without pre-screening the press questions or collecting reporters’ palm cards ahead of time like his incompetent predecessor.”

He added:

“Unlike Joe Biden, President Trump is actually running our country, and he doesn’t ever shy away from taking on the fake news to deliver the truth.”

A senior White House official, unnamed by Fox News, reportedly told the outlet that the White House Press Office under Karoline Leavitt “does not prepare any reporter palm cards” and added further that the White House press team doesn’t “ask for reporters to submit their questions to the president ahead of time.”
