Unlawful Assembly Declared in Los Angeles as Protesters Attempt to Storm Federal Building – RedState

In a hardly-surprising development, Saturday’s “No Kings” protest in Los Angeles has turned violent, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department to declare an unlawful assembly. Unlike last weekend, law enforcement officers are moving in quickly and en masse.

The post reads:

A DISPERSAL ORDER has been issued at Alameda South of Aliso North of Temple.

A DISPERSAL ORDER has been issued on Los Angeles St between Aliso and Temple.

People in the crowd are throwing rocks, bricks, bottles and other objects.

Less lethal has been approved.  Less lethal may cause discomfort and pain.

It is advised that all persons leave the area.

That is the area surrounding the Federal Building, where protesters have been taunting soldiers.

On Friday the LAPD mobilized every single officer in anticipation of unrest, canceling scheduled vacation for officers and ordering those currently out on vacation to return.

As my colleague Bob Hoge reported earlier Saturday, 10 LA County Sheriff’s deputies have been injured so far in the riots, and LA County Sheriff Robert Luna says his officers are regularly getting hit with rocks, high-grade pyrotechnics, and Molotov cocktails.

Some protesters were even attempting to attack the horses on mounted patrol.

LA Mayor Karen Bass posted this three hours ago, but has been silent since.

Round ’em up, and lock ’em up!

ADDENDUM: After publishing I found this beautiful video of officers carrying out the dispersal order.
