US and Israeli forces have launched a fresh wave of strikes on Iranian cities close to key nuclear sites.
On Sunday, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) confirmed operations targeting Iran’s ballistic missile infrastructure and air defence systems.
In its latest update, the IDF said: “The Israeli Air Force has struck more than 30 targets belonging to the Iranian terror regime across Iran, including aerial defence systems, missile launchers, regime targets, and military command centres.”
US Central Command later confirmed the new wave of strikes on social media, posting: “The Iranian regime was warned.”
“CENTCOM is now delivering swift and decisive action as directed.”
Residents have reported a number of explosions in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
Blasts were also recorded in Bushehr and Qom, a holy city in Shia Islam.
It remains unclear whether the strikes have caused casualties or damage to nearby nuclear facilities.

Qom lies around 20 miles from Fordow, a key uranium enrichment facility that Mr Trump previously claimed had been “totally obliterated” during last June’s 12-day Israeli-Iranian conflict.
Bushehr, a port city on the Persian Gulf in south-western Iran, is just 11 miles from a nuclear power station partly operated by Russia’s state nuclear company Rosatom.
The renewed action came after confirmation of Ayatollah Khamenei’s death.

Following the death of the Ayatollah, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps vowed to unleash its “most devastating” attacks yet on Israel and the US imminently.
A statement from the elite military force read: “The most devastating offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces will begin toward the occupied territories and American terrorist bases in just moments.”

The Islamic Republic launched a series of retaliatory strikes on Saturday following the initial US and Israeli bombardment.
Missiles were fired at American bases across the Middle East as well as civilian targets.
The barrage breached Israel’s Iron Dome defence system, with projectiles striking Tel Aviv and killing a woman in her forties with 20 people were also let injured.
At least 130 Iranians have been killed and 200 injured after the US and Israel launched waves of strikes across the country, the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency has reported.
The figures are based on a preliminary report, which said the majority of casualties occurred in Tehran.
It added that at least 58 separate attacks were carried out across 18 provinces in Iran.
