New Book Reveals the Backstory on Harris Picking Walz – It’s As Bad As You Would Think

So instead of picking the guy who was smart and wanted concrete definitions, she chose the guy who sounded like he wasn’t being straight about his goals, who even now seems to want national attention.

Jasmine Crockett: Trump Supporters Tried to Assassinate President, Violence Doesn’t Come From Democrats

On the same day that Crockett suggested violence does not come from her side of the political aisle, another man was arrested for threatening to kill Trump, Attorney General Pamela Bondi, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.

Megyn Kelly Breaks Down Why She Thinks Pam Bondi’s ‘Days Are Numbered’

“So she’s either lazy and incompetent, or she willingly humiliated some of the president’s most loyal supporters. Neither one of those is good,” the host continued. “And that’s why, I’m sorry, but I’m going to predict her days are numbered as a member of the Trump administration. You know, Trump, he’s not dumb. But I just don’t think, I don’t think Trump created this.”

Michigan Homeowner Kills 1 of 7 Breaking Into Garage, But There’s an Issue

There seems to be at least some nuance missing from the discussion. Does state law explicitly state it’s just the house itself, or is the curtilage included? Further, you’ve got seven people breaking into a detached garage and just one homeowner. Was that a factor? Did they appear threatening to him?

Trump’s Approval Looking Good in Swing States

Trump’s regional popularity in swing districts may not translate into votes in areas that lean Democratic, but his strength in many swing districts probably explains why he is getting big legislative wins.

These particular spikes were found in a bag one of the men was carrying. Hey, wait a minute, what does it say on that bag? CHIRLA?

They Thought This Woman Could Do This? The 2024 Kamala Memos Are Damning and Hilarious

There wasn’t a single poll where Harris led President Trump. The American people had made up their minds long before Hurricane Kamala arrived.

Democrats DEMAND Apology From Randy Fine for Demolishing Ilhan Omar (They Ain’t Getting One)

Randy Fine did an outstanding Michael Corleone impression by telling Omar, Jeffries, and Clark, ‘My offer is this: nothing.’

Welcome to the new rules, Democrats. You’re not going to like them.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

Thursday is set to be a quieter day on the Hill, with only four meetings/hearings scheduled:

  • Senate Appropriations — Business meeting to markup the “Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026”, the “Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2026”, and the “Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2026”
  • Senate Intelligence (Select) — Closed hearings to examine certain intelligence matters
  • Senate Energy and Natural Resources — Hearings to examine the President’s proposed budget request for fiscal year 2026 for the U.S. Forest Service
  • Senate Intelligence (Select) — Closed business meeting to consider pending calendar business

Though the House is not in session this week, that hasn’t stopped some of its dimmest bulbs from sharing their “thoughts,” of course.

White House What’s Up

The only formal entry on President Donald Trump’s Thursday schedule is a mid-morning intelligence briefing. I’ve a sneaking suspicion it won’t be a quiet day for him or the White House, though. Just a hunch.

Speaking of the Trump administration, Miranda Devine over at the New York Post conducted a fascinating interview with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. I wrote on some of those highlights yesterday.

Full Court Press…

No earth-shattering rulings from the Supreme Court yesterday, but they did turn away the appeal of Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier over Florida’s new immigration law, which will remain on hold pending the state’s appeal of a lower court injunction.

We also learned of two new suits filed by the Trump administration against the State of California on Wednesday, one on Title IX and one on…eggs.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

President Trump and First Lady Melania will be traveling to Texas on Friday to survey the damage caused by the recent flooding.

MORNING MUSING

Speaking of flooding, as a weather geek, I’m going to take this opportunity to offer a Public Service Announcement to any and all: Don’t park under overpasses and do NOT drive into flooded roadways.

Now I’m going to confess to you my own stupidity and ignorance: I used to believe that under an overpass was the place to be if the weather got really dicey, and I know I’m not alone in that. Guess what? It’s not. First and foremost, you parking there blocks the road/shoulder for everyone behind you, creating the likelihood of accidents, particularly in low visibility and fraught situations. Second, if you’re trying to escape a tornado or high winds, guess what the overpass does? Acts as a wind tunnel, making it more likely you’ll get struck by flying debris and/or get sucked up into the void.

Second, though I’ve heard over and over “Turn around, don’t drown,” I one time panicked as there was an unexpected and unusual flash flood on a major highway, and I did what the car in the tweet below did (though the water was probably only half as high). It was the combination of it being a highway (because the idea of turning around or stopping in that setting is so alien) and high stress, but I screwed up. I was dumb. I did make it through, but as soon as I did, I was kicking myself for being such an idiot and vowed never to do it again. Don’t be dumb like me. Use your noggin.

LIGHTER FARE

This is not my dog. However, this could quite easily be my dog — this is very much how she would react to this situation. 😂
