As we reported, President Donald Trump managed to pull off something pretty amazing, with a deal to finally end the war in Gaza and get the hostages home after two years.
The first phase of the deal was signed in Israel, and the hostages are anticipated to be released on Monday, according to Trump.

During a cabinet meeting on Thursday, Vice President JD Vance praised Trump and his negotiating team for their achievement. He then explained why Trump was uniquely qualified to bring a deal together.
Vance made the point that they were able to get it done because they didn’t do what other presidents did in the past. “It’s because he did something different,” Vance said. Check out the reference to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).

Vance said Trump being one of the most “famous New Yorkers in the world” and knowing people who were pro-Israel was a critical piece of the puzzle.
“He also, of course, knew one of the most famous Palestinians in the world — Chuck Schumer!” Vance explained.

Vance also torpedoed Schumer for his vile comment that “every day gets better for us.” He noted that while Schumer was thinking about the political benefit of the shutdown, and likely being wrong about it, the Trump team was focused on reducing any pain to the American people.
Vance explained that there’s a low-income food program that his mom used when he was little – the WIC program – that is going to face difficulty, and talked about the military members who are not being paid, all because of Schumer. The Trump team is trying to save the program with a little creative application of tariff revenue, as my colleague Bob Hoge reported.

Bottom line? Schumer is failing. He couldn’t deal with his radical left-wing base on the issue of Gaza, which is why Vance made that comment about him being a “Palestinian.”

Now, Schumer is all on board with this shutdown to further appeal to his loon wing so that he can keep his seat, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) waiting in the wings. The funny thing is that it will never be enough to appease them, while he and the Democrats lose more of the voters in the center.
