A brave survivor of a harrowing sexual assault has declared “I have my freedom” in a moving interview with GB News, as Patrick Christys took viewers inside the courtroom to see “what really happens inside the courtroom, so you can see how these sex cases really work”.
On May 3 of last year, Iranian refugee Ahmadreza Khalafi sexually assaulted a teenager whilst she was on a night out with her friends.
19 year old Abbie Johnson, who has waived her right to anonymity, spoke to GB News after the sentencing and said: “Now I have my freedom back I feel and I can move on with my life knowing that all my fighting was worth it.”
She also told The People’s Channel that she wanted to ‘save someone else going through what she went through”.
At his St Albans Crown Court trial on December 2, Khalafi pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual touching.
Today February 5, he was sentenced to four-and-a-half years’ imprisonment, with three years’ extended licence. He was also given a 10-year restraining order.
