Whatever happened to ¡No Pasarán!?

Consultant Damian Bennett has written us on behalf of the disappeared site ¡No Pasarán!. It sounds like something out of the real life Biden-era horror movie. This is Mr. Bennett’s message:

* * * * *

As a long-time follower of Power Line, I am writing on behalf of ¡No Pasarán!, a Franco-Euro-American blog recently de-platformed by Blogger/Google.

Below is the ¡No Pasarán! brief against Google, which owns and services Blogger:

1. On May 28, Blogger without notice or explanation CENSORED ¡No Pasarán! and de-platformed the 21-year-old blog.

2. Blogger stated that ¡No Pasarán! “was flagged to us for review. We have determined that it violates our … Misleading Content Policy.” Yet Blogger has never provided posts or language to example a single violation.

3. Further after 21 years — TWENTY-ONE YEARS — and over 14,000+ posts, Blogger asks us to believe only now has it suddenly discovered violations of its community guidelines (or, for that matter, any rules of common courtesy whatsoever) by ¡No Pasarán!, an exemplary Netizen. This is a ridiculous and insupportable fiction. It is simply not credible.

4. Blogger has responded to subsequent appeals with brief boilerplate replies signed by a rotation of fictitious “dedicated” customer “specialists,” suggesting ¡No Pasarán! can always pursue an appeal of Blogger’s rejection of a previous appeal, that is, pursue an endless loop of appeals to rejected appeals.

5. ¡No Pasarán! has been given no opportunities to confront the flagger(s)/complainant(s), to know, much less address, any specific complaint(s) or offense(s), or to redress any valid violation.

6. Blogger offers no resolution process to undo its censure of ¡No Pasarán!, giving the lie to its bad faith appeal process.

7. ¡No Pasarán!’s position is simple. It knows of no violation(s) committed. It DEMANDS reinstatement consistent with Blogger’s own service pledges to its customers (viz., “Taking action in case of problems”). Google’s confounding censoring with its unwarranted removal of 14,000+ posts is a breach of good faith and fair dealing.

8. To readers, both in the U.S. and abroad, Google’s sudden and insupportable de-platforming of ¡No Pasarán! smacks of ham-fisted censorship.
