Democrats are completely shameless and make everything about their hatred of President Donald Trump.
Even in the case of the horrible National Guard shooting, the reaction from them, including from Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25), was to blame Trump for deploying the Guard to Washington, D.C. But the White House isn’t taking things lying down and issued a scathing rebuke of Wasserman Schultz after she trotted out this tortured logic:
Wasserman-Schultz blames Trump:
“Would an individual have flown across the country to target law enforcement officers in Washington, DC? The answer is likely no.”

Schultz asked:
[W] ould an individual have flown across the country to target law enforcement officers in Washington, D.C.? And, I mean, the answer is likely no. So, why wasn‘t the president‘s first thought, ‘Wow, you know, maybe I should reconsider deploying military troops in the nation‘s capital or in any city?’
“Particularly not when they haven‘t coordinated closely with the leadership of these cities and when we have law enforcement that are quite capable of handling the criminal justice issues that are — that we need law enforcement to focus on, and not our military.”
So if a criminal/terrorist shoots a military member, we should be cowed into stopping the mission?
Maybe this explains why the Democrats fail. And of course, she’s ignoring that the Trump team has coordinated with the D.C. locals, and even the Democratic mayor has acknowledged how much the federal action has helped to reduce crime in the city.

Wasserman Schultz continued:
“If there were gaps that admitted this person, they would have failed over multiple levels of gaps. And this individual was trusted enough to participate in assisting our military during the war in Afghanistan.”
Translation: We can’t blame Joe Biden for letting him in, for having a process that didn’t adequately vet people, and just throwing people onto planes.
As the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent observed, there’s a big difference between vetting someone to work with the U.S. military in Afghanistan and vetting them for coming to live in our country, and he says they didn’t do what they should have done.
Wasserman Schultz continued to blame Trump and the deployment.
“The president looks everywhere except inward to blame his own policies. We need to make sure that we don‘t have our military deployed in our cities, doing — handling law enforcement responsibilities,” she said. “We certainly need to make sure we always have the proper and appropriate and tight, tight vetting processes, and those should be reviewed. But it‘s never the president‘s fault or his policies when it comes to his reaction, and it‘s pretty disgusting.”
Notice she’s not blaming the alleged attacker here.
She’s also not mentioning the demonizing that the left has done of the Guard. We don’t know if that factored into the attack yet. But it shouldn’t be happening at all, and it takes some nerve for the Democrats to try to blame Trump after they’re the ones who have been exacerbating the situation, not just against the Guard, but against federal agents as well.
The White House cut right through Wasserman Schultz’s garbage in short order.
“This animal would’ve never been here if not for Joe Biden’s dangerous policies, which allowed countless unvetted criminals to invade our country and harm the American people. The Trump administration is taking every measure possible — in the face of unrelenting Democrat opposition — to get these monsters out of our country and clean up the mess made by the Biden administration. Instead of defending terrorists, the Democrats should join us in protecting the American people,” spokeswoman Abigail Jackson wrote.
But they’re too busy attacking Trump.
