The pain of the awful Minneapolis school shooting Wednesday is still fresh in our hearts, but White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed Thursday at a press briefing that another tragedy may have been averted in Washington, D.C.
She said that law enforcement in the nation’s capital arrested a juvenile Wednesday night for “allegedly threatening violence towards a school,” just hours after the Annunciation Church School shooting, which left two children dead and at least 17 victims injured.
“This tragedy … is heartbreaking, as a parent myself there are no words to describe just the heartbreak that these families must be enduring which is why the president and the first lady have encouraged everyone to continue to pray for these families and these victims,” she added.
Leavitt said on Wednesday night that “when threats were being made, there was an arrest of a juvenile right here in D.C. in Ward 7 for threats to kidnap and injure, receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.”
Multiple weapons were recovered:
She added that “a search warrant was executed, seven firearms were recovered and the juvenile was arrested after the investigation was initiated based on social media post allegedly threatening violence towards a school.”
Reporter Iris Tao, who, as we reported, told a hushed Cabinet meeting on Tuesday about being assaulted on the streets of the nation’s capital, tweeted her question to Leavitt and the press secretary’s stunning response:

“As a parent myself, there are no words to describe the heartbreak that these families must be enduring…it’s why this administration is focused on removing public safety threats from our communities,” Leavitt says.

Leavitt continued, saying the suspect has been neutralized:
This was a juvenile who was a risk to not just himself but the community here in Washington and he was removed from the community last night because of the law enforcement efforts of this administration.

For most of us, hearing the news Wednesday about the crazed transgender psychopath who intentionally targeted kids was heartbreaking and hard to cope with. It was only made worse by the deranged responses from so many Democrat leaders and media pundits, as Bonchie and others have written about.
Unfortunately, in today’s world, such an attack could inspire copycats with their own twisted visions. God bless our law enforcement heroes for stopping what looks like could have been another horrific attack.
