Liberals tell us that all cultures are equal, but they don’t mean it. What they really think is that all other cultures are superior to ours.
I ran across this graphic on Instagram:
The data source is this 2018 Pew Research survey, so it is a little dated. But I doubt that the numbers have changed much. Generally, Eastern Europeans believe in their cultures more than Western Europeans. That probably helps to explain divergent attitudes toward third-world immigration. Within that broad trend, there are interesting anomalies–for example, why are Norwegians so much prouder of their culture than Swedes?
Here is a completely different data set that I think is not unrelated, from the Unleash Prosperity Hotline:
Europeans are literally dying out. The welfare state promises to care for you from cradle to grave, but the reality is that it costs a lot more as you get closer to the grave. So you need plenty of young people to keep the cycle going. Western European countries have responded to their shortage of young people by importing Middle Easterners and others. That has not worked out well for them.
Having children is the ultimate act of faith in the future. A society that denigrates its own culture, that views its people as a blight on the environment, that thinks its past is shameful and its future is doubtful, will die out. Literally.
At the end of the day, I suppose the superior culture is the one that survives.
