The Princess of Wales likes to cook her family one particular meal that is cheap and easy to store. The royal, 43, is said to be very hands-on in the kitchen and often loves to cook for her family rather than have a chef.
During a visit to an Indian restaurant in Birmingham in 2023, Kate and William shared that they both love curry – although the future King revealed that he doesn’t like much spice. Although he referred to himself as a “masala man”, Kate said that she “loves spice”.
The couple also shared during the visit that they like to try curry houses “across the country”.
Kate also revealed that their three children – Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven-year-old Prince Louis – are also partial to a curry.
Asked if George, Charlotte and Louis like such dishes, the Princess of Wales said: “Absolutely, they love it.”
Darren McGrady, who worked for 11 years as a private chef to the late Queen, Princess Diana, Prince William and Prince Harry, previously shared a recipe for a traditional English curry dating back to Queen Victoria on his YouTube channel.
He revealed to his subscribers that Queen Victoria loved curries and had hired two chefs at Buckingham Palace to solely make the dish for her.
During a BBC Radio 1 interview, Kate and William discussed their dinner options for the evening – to which William said about a curry.
William said their dinner would depend on “what time we get back,” to which Kate added, “Yeah, it probably will be a curry or teriyaki salmon, something like that.”
Speaking about his dislike of too much spice, William said: “I can’t do too much spice, I start sweating. It’s not attractive!”
