BREAKING: Trump – ‘High Degree of Certainty, WE HAVE HIM IN CUSTODY’

I had a feeling this wasn’t going to take long, between the really terrifc surveillance system on campus, the good pictures they got of this guy, and even the 4chan autistics working feverishly hunting down people the way only they can do.

So, Who Was the Guy Asking Charlie Kirk About Shootings at the Very Moment He Was Shot?

The awkward video of Kozak featured on CNN showed him reflecting on how ironically alike the two men’s lives are.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

It being Friday, there are no meetings/hearings set on the Hill today. We did see progress from Senate Republicans on Thursday, with a 53-45 vote to change the rules to allow the Senate to confirm nominees en bloc, instead of individually.

And, according to Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD), a shutdown may be looming.

News: Senate Majority Leader John Thune told us on Fly Out Day that he believes Democrats have made the decision to force a government shutdown, a stunning analysis with less than 20 days until the spending deadline.

“I think they see it as politically advantageous to have a shutdown,” Thune said during an interview Thursday in the Punchbowl News Townhouse, referring to Democrats.

“I think their base is clamoring for that. They want a fight with the Trump administration. But they don’t have a good reason to do it. And I don’t intend to give them a good reason to do it.”

Ain’t we got fun?

White House What’s Up

President Donald Trump is already busy making news on Friday morning as he joined “Fox & Friends” for an interview and shared some welcome news. He’s spending the day in New York and will head to Bedminster, New Jersey, later this evening.

Vice President JD Vance is, of course, in Arizona, as he and Second Lady Usha have gone to be with Charlie Kirk’s family.

Full Court Press…

That promised court round-up is still in the works. Will have more on that later today.

Meanwhile, the Ryan Routh trial has officially gotten underway in Florida. Opening statements were delivered on Thursday, and multiple witnesses testified. Routh had to be admonished by the court regularly regarding his decorum.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

President Trump heads to the U.K. next week. He also has indicated he plans to attend the funeral of Charlie Kirk, which looks to be set for next weekend.

MORNING MUSING

I’m seeing variations on this theme shared on social media: That the [epithet not fit for print] who murdered Charlie Kirk failed if his aim was to silence Kirk. It’s born of righteous anger, and it may well be right. In that respect, I would liken this moment to the death of Andrew Breitbart — suddenly and far too young, albeit not due to such sinister circumstances. So many of us in this new media space trace our media lineage back to Breitbart. And Charlie had an even bigger, broader influence on young people in particular via TPUSA.

In times of great turmoil and grief, people often turn to such sentiments to help them deal with their anguish. But I don’t think, in this case, the sentiment is mere “cope.” I say that because of what I’ve observed over the past two days on social media. Now, this is not scientific. It’s purely anecdotal. But many I know who don’t usually wade into politics on their feeds have done so in the wake of Charlie’s assassination. And they have done so in support of Charlie — even many who very much disagreed with him politically.

Yes, I know there’s plenty of negative chatter out there about him, too. Well aware of that. I’m simply noting a vibe, if you will, that I haven’t seen before. If that son-of-a-b-word thought his cowardly act would frighten or intimidate others into shutting up, I believe he’s in for a rude awakening.

LIGHTER FARE

I need one of these
