In a crowded field, here’s my candidate for the most brazen lie of the day. From an official Gov. Tim Walz press release,
Amid Federal Attacks on Medicaid, Governor Walz Shores Up DHS Leadership to Protect Minnesotans.
Minnesota is drowning in $10 billion of Medicaid fraud. So Gov. Tim Walz is forced into having his Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner of Human Services (DHS) swap jobs the day before the Commissioner was going to get fired by the Democrat-controlled state Senate on account of her complete and total incompetence.
Under the new structure, John Connolly will serve as the temporary commissioner of DHS. Connolly asked Shireen Gandhi to remain at DHS as deputy commissioner.
By making the old deputy the new head man, and vice versa, Walz will run out the clock on his Administration, avoiding a messy confirmation hearing and inconvenient questions.
