A nation’s legal system is the ultimate measure of that society’s values. What does it tolerate? What does it prohibit? What does it care about, enough to actually do something?
In the U.K., as in much of Europe, the answers to those questions are depressing. Does British society care about, for example, mass gang rape? Or does it only care about those who are unhappy about such rapes making waves? The latter, sadly.

That is the story across the U.K. and much of Europe: the authorities don’t care much about the havoc wreaked by Middle Eastern immigrants, they only care about the reaction to that havoc because it threatens their power.
Hence the rise of “far right” parties across the continent.
